    Hooray for Thunder!

About 4 years ago i successfully got her on fresh pre killed but she would never take a a frozen thawed. Well tonight i followed the advice on a sticky thread for getting your snakes on F/T. I offered her a small live mouse. She took it in almost one quick swallow. Had a large F/T warm and a little damp and ready to go the moment she had the mouse down. She took it with no hesitation at all! finally my 6 year old is on her way to eating F/T exclusively! Thanks for the great advice on how to do this with picky eaters. It will save me money and hassle in the future

BTW the way. The F/T was a large rat. Prior to this she would never take anything bigger than a pre killed small rat despite her size. Feeding her was expensive. Im so glad i got her to take it tonight. Also i finally got some great pics of her tonight post shed before she ate. Good belly shots too. I'll be posting them in my gallery and in the photos thread tomorrow Finally captured her great belly markings and the yellow scales all along her sides. By following the advice on here to get good pics of your snakes. So once again. Thanks for the help!

Thumbs up Re: Hooray for Thunder!

UPDATE! She is now on F/T exclusivly! The correct size rat for her size too! I didnt need to tease her with a live mouse this time. Last night i thawed the rats in hot water. Replaced the water a couple times as it cooled. Drained the water off. Warmed them up a bit more with a hairdryer and both of my larger balls took them immediately.

I guess its true that a very warm & wet rat does wonders to trigger the feeding response. This will be my method of converting any new snakes to F/T from now on. It works wonderfully! So glad i read that thread!

Good deal! It's always a relief when you're confident of your feeding methods!
