Incredibly frustrated

I have to share this with you guys ... I am still upset about this and it happened last night.

I went to go get my haircut last night, it was 6:30 in my small town, Wal-Mart was the only place open with their Smart Style place, so I went there, signed the paper. The lady said I would probably have a 45 minute wait. I said fine, I will go do some shopping, come back and wait.

Got done shopping, waited at the salon. There was a family in front of me, so they all got their hair cut. By the time they got through which included both a pause for the outgoing shift lady to do the incoming shift ladies hair .. in the middle of the list of customers, and fixing a haircut they got wrong it took longer than 45 minutes.

I was there for 1 hour and 30 minutes. Those god with math will now be able to tell that it is 8:00. She came over to me and said "I see you are signed up for a cut and color" .. I said "mmhmm". She then said "Would it be alright if I just did the cut, I don't have time for the color."

I just starred at her.

"After I waited over an hour you are no telling me you don't have time to fit me in?"

"Yea .. so can we just do the cut?"

"no."

I walked out having wasted a good chunk of time with NO RESULTS! I was so angry ... I think if you let a patient customer wait for an hour and a half, when you finally get to them .. you have time for them. period. I couldn't believe that.

Today I am going to the place across the street from them in a little strip mall ... hopefully they can fit me in. ... I just want some highlights!

I wouldn't get highlights, but that's just me. My aunt cuts my hair, as she's been doing it for 15-20 years now.

i remember when i went to chiles with my friends, they told us we would wait for 15 mins. and like an HOUR and 15 mins, they apologized and sat us... then they gave us free chips (which most places give FREE anyways, and were like 3 bucks there)... not the BEST "im sorry" gift, but we werent too mad.
we just had a lot of time to talk =], and it was fun just chillin LOL

I go to the same barber every month. No issues ever. When we relocated out here about ten years ago I shaved my head for a while until I found a new barber. Took me about a year but I have been happy since.

I can't imagine having a new person cut my hair every time. Weird small talk, bad haircut and having to explain what I want every time would drive me back to shaving my head.

Oh my god, same thing happened to me and my parents when we were visiting Williamsburg, VA!! Except after the waiter didn't return with our waters after 20 minutes, we just left.

Fair enough, but like I said .. small town .. at 6:30pm, on a Saturday. My option are limited.

And I would go to a local barber, but there are only a few ... and their hours suck, I hate making appointments. I like just going "hey, I need a haircut" and having one 30 minutes later.
