I have to thank you all

This site is great! I purchased my first bp 3 weeks ago. I followed everyone's advice and left him alone for a week after introducing him to his new home. After a week, my wife and I took him out and he was awesome. However, my wife noticed a little dark spot that felt like a bump in his skin. I kind of ignored it, until 2 weeks later the black bump turned into a bigger red bump! I didn't know what it was so I checked around on this forum and came to the conclusion that it was a tick! I took him to the vet and sure enough I was right! They got it out with the head, it cost me $100 bucks, but now Apollo is fine.

Anyways, I would never have suspected a tick without researching here.

    Thanks everyone!

You may wish to order some Provent-A-Mite and treat his enclosure. If he came with a tick, he may also have mites - and the tick could have laid eggs.

Here's where you can order it: http://www.pro-products.com

I would definately order a treatment, rather be safe then sorry. Also just make sure you follow the instructions 100%, I would also recommend cleaning the tank, and any hides/waterbowl you have in there with a bleach solution. Just make sure you thoroughly rinse off the bleach.
