when i was looking for my carpet, i looked at ALL the pictures i could find of any age animal, especially if there were "documenting" photos (ie, ones taken as a hatchling and every few months after). That starts to give you an idea of what a baby may color up like.

I'm REALLY new to carpets, but when i saw my female i knew she'd have the color scheme i wanted. I actually ended up getting a much older baby than a hatchling. I think she's somewhere around 4-6 months old (she weighs just over 100 grams) because i still cant tell what a baby baby will look like.

I got her at a show and paid what i thought was a reasonable price for her. She's black, yellow and gold, typical colors. Shes certainly not a morph like a jaguar or a zebra or anything but she's a lovely cross.
