The coloring on my normal BP .
My little BP has a lot of white along the bottom of her sides. All the way down she fades to white if that makes sense. I was wondering if as she grows this will stay? Or do they normally darken up?
It was one of the things that made me pick her out
Tonight is feeding night so I don't want to mess with her to get a picture, but I can take one in a few days.
Thanks in advance.

Hi, Solinger!
I think that most ball pythons have some white along their lower sides, as their dorsal color fades into their belly color. The white tends to creep up along the darker parts of the pattern, giving it an attractive edging.
We always love photos of good looking snakes, though - and ball pythons are good looking snakes!! (^_^)

Re: The coloring on my normal BP .
I've seen similar patterns on other snakes, but I know that patterns vary from one to the other. I guess a better question is do young snakes keep the same pattern and coloring throughout their lives or does it change significantly?
I have three pictures is my gallery from the first couple of nights she came home.

My adult female has high white, and it's still there! I'm not sure how she looked as a baby, since I got her as an adult - but here she is, around 3-4 years old & 2000+ grams:

Lolo's Collection...
Ball Pythons: 0.4 Normals, 1.0 Pastel, 1.1 Mojaves, 1.0 Black Pastel, 2.0 Spiders, 0.1 Lesser, 1.0 Orange Ghost, 0.1 Honeybee
0.1 Spotted Python, 1.1 Stimson's Pythons, 1.0 Jungle Carpet Python
3.4 Corn Snakes, 1.1 Western Hognose Snakes, 1.2 cats, and 1.0 dog (47lb mutt)

My six week old male ball has bright white bordering the side gold marks completely around them. I picked him because that looked so beautiful to me! His father was a pastel but he is a normal like his mother! I hope he keeps it all his life because I am in it for the long haul! LOL!
