    Secure cages?

    hi, well i have a Ball python... is like 2 months old and here is my question

    i have a 10 gal tank with a lid on the top... how i can secure that so the snake will not scape in the future?

    any pet sotre that sells reptiles and reptiles supplies should carry lid clips that will fit on top of the screen lid and lock onto the plastic frame at the top of tank. They work well but you will discover in tme that you are going to have a difficult time maintaining proper temps and huidity in a tank with screen lid. Look into getting a cage designed specifically for housing snakes. Hope this helps a little. Todd

    I currently use the clips mentioned above, they really work well. My adult ball python (shes strong!) is no match for the clips.

    If you stick with your mesh top (assuming that's what youre using), you may have to use something to cover the majority of it to keep the humidity up. I've read some people use things like tin foil, or a sheet of plexiglass.
