Just a note--letting snakes bite you does not teach them any lessons in futility. They don't learn in that fashion.
It's better not to allow a snake to get so worked up that it tries to bite. If it does, then do whatever it is you have to do quickly, so that the snake has less time to get even more upset, and it can calm back down again. Keeping the snake in its comfort zone is a much better way to train it to tolerate handling.
