Dont know what kind of lizzard

I have been wanting to get a lizzard. Im not sure what kind to get thought i would ask here. Im looking for something that get to about 3 to 4 feet ,and doesn't need to eat crickets. I had a beaderd dragon and those crickets got out all the time and was in the house. I was sort of leaning towards a water dragon do they eat small mice. What do you guys think would be a good lizzard.

From the sounds of it i don't think your gonna get a lizard in your category man.Maybe my opinion before you go into bigger lizards which are monitors you should get something smaller maybe an ackie you can mainly keep them on roaches but mice are not a good diet for any lizard really they are to fatty to be a main diet. But i don't know much about lizards tho so i could be wrong.

A sav can live on live pray, easy to take care of as MBD isn't an huge issue with them. I feed pinkies and dusted cricket right now but as soon as he get bigger no was a 21/3-4 foot lizard would go and eat crickets. Could easily get away with feeding it other bugs until it's bigger.

I could have gotten into: baby chicks, button quail, rats, mice,eggs,snails.... Live or dead they will eat them.I will feed live until hopper size ,other owners will continue with full live feeding of adult mice/rats, when he's bigger live quail will be fed. They don't need an "cooked" one that have started to pop up.

Blue Tongue Skink!!! Of course, you must get a BTS. They don't need crickets, they're omnivorous, they get about 2' but with thick bodies, they're very social, and the coolest lizard out there!

Can you tell I love them?

I was just asking why you put live prey because he never asked about whether he should feed live or not.

Re: Dont know what kind of lizzard

Ya its not a issue if it is live prey or not. I just didn't want a lizzard that only fed on crickets. Any thing else would of been fine like meal worms or something small pinkies.
