Way over my head lol
Let me start off, I have two 3-4 ft ball pythons and I wanted to breed rats for fun and have feeder so I bought 3 females at one pet store and bought a male at another store. Well after a 4-5 weeks I seen no sign of them getting pregnant. So I seen a person on craigslist that had rats for sale and went and bought 5 more adult females (planning on getting another male) at a dollar a piece I couldn't resist. The lady said they may be pregnant. Well a couple day after getting them, last night to be exact, one of the 5 new ones had a litter of 10 without any warning and while I was feeding them this morning another one of the 5 is huge. Then one of the 3 original females is starting to get a belly on her, lol. I think I"m on my way to have a good supply of rats.
Here is the first litter born, and hopefully not the last. lol

You better have a CO2 chamber set up for euthanizing and freezing of rats or you will be overrun very shortly. Just sayin'. Congrats and good luck with the little ones.

PLEASE tell me you just mistyped this and aren't throwing any rat old enough to have fur into the freezer alive. And that my 'thumpin' you mean humanely euthanizing the animal and making sure it is dead before putting it in the freezer.

What you need to do is get a nice pet that eats pinkies, no joke We have a RES, baby sav,2 pacman,2 small cornsnakes, female pixie frog that eat the pinkies if we have too many LOL. I have about 13 females and 1 male. I rest them on cycle , one tank 2 litters, that other tank 2 litters. I try to freeze only 1-4 day old pinkies as I think that's a bit kinder.
Too many pets to list!

lol grats, I purchased rats Saturday for a new breedign program ( since my asf are not reaching adult hood fast enoughto feed the snakes.) I got 1.3 and monday the one female dropped a load and the other 2 look ready any time lol. I know the male didn't get to play yet. I going to use the rats pups as a subs for asfs while waiting for them to get larger.
