    BP Swallowed a thermometer

I went to change my 6yo female ball python's water and found that she had a thermometer probe about 18 inches down her throat. I didn't want to pull on it and risk hurting her so I called my local exotic vet but since it was after hours no one answered. While I was calling the vet my dad managed to remove the probe but it was missing a small suction cup that was attached to the cable. I dont know how she removed it from the cable but I think she may have swallowed it.

I'm gonna call the vet in the morning and probably take her in to get checked out.

Has anyone experienced anything like this? is there anything I should worry about for now?

also this is my first time posting

Never heard of a snake swallowing a thermometer...
I wonder if anyone else has?

    First off ... Welcome !!!

Secondly, where in WA are you and who is your vet? If you are in the southend, the Sumner Vet Hospital is open 24/7 for emergencies. They are pretty reasonable in price too. $78 for a ER exam is what I paid when I had to take my lizard in.

Good luck and keep us posted.

Use only a dab, so it's easy to pop off when you need to clean the enclosure.

I don't believe their stomach acid can dissolve rubber, but if she did swallow it, seeing as she is 6 years old I don't think she would have a problem passing it.
