    Ball Python feedings

I bought a Ball Python about two months ago, so I'm new on how to take care of Ball Python's. My Ball Python ues to stay in his hide untill it was time for him to eat or I the times I took him out to hold. Now he is coming out during the day and looking around as if he is hungry. I have fed him three weekends in a row and he has eaten every time. So I guess my question is that is he really hungery or just me thinking he is.

Could also be stress. Can you describe your setup for us and husbandry? Temps, humidity, etc. A picture would be great if you could get one.

In the meantime, check out this caresheet for a ton of good info!

I think it would be helpful for you to tell us what you are feeding the snake. What kind of prey item? How big is it?

Her temperature is being adjusted up, new bedding yesterday. Temps were checked with an IR gun. It's a 40G critter tank.

Go ahead and ask how I know? Been married to the gal for 35 years, and I finally got her on a forum!

    Re: Ball Python feedings

From what I can see in that tiny pic, I have some suggestions.
The half log hides don't offer the security bp's need and could cause stress as their not a suitable hiding place. The hot side temp should be 92-94. Humidity could be a bit lower, around 50-60%. The tank is huge (a 40g is big for even the biggest of females) and very open. I would suggest going for a 20g tank or a Sterilite tub. At the very least, crowd up the tank with fake plants, etc.
