As a fellow pitbull owner it nice to here a good story about them once in a while. Seems like all you ever hear is bad stories about them. But you made a good choice pitbulls are the most loving breed of dog I have ever encountered and deserve more good people to give them homes like you. I for one cant think of any reasons to be upset even if I have alot of them when I am with my dog. I hope your good streak continues and you have lots of good times with your pit.

I've never thought of that actually lol. But I don't know if what I have would be considered a disability to most. I feel like people who truly need a dog companion to help them out in everyday life probably have it a lot harder than i do. but im still going to look into that lol, cuz that wold be really cool.

If your panic attacks and anxiety prevent you from living a "normal" life (but normal is all relevant, of course), and your dog helps to prevent that feeling of anxiety and panic attack, then absolutely it would qualify as a disability. There are service dogs working right now with people with panic and anxiety attacks.

I volunteer with Canine Assistants in Alpharetta that trains service dogs for the physically disabled. We don't do psychiatric service dogs though.

That makes me so happy to hear. I have had both anxiety attacks and panic attacks, they are not chronic but triggered, but I can't imagine having to deal with that on a daily/weekly basis. Especially panic attacks. I wish you the very best and congratulations on your new dog!

I want to echo this statement - there are absolutely people who have their dogs registered as service dogs for psychiatric reasons. You should definitely look into it.

I was diagnosed in 1998 with a Generalized Panic Disorder after some traumatic events in my life. I did many many years of therapy and tried most anxiety med's on the market. I can tell you that I have used Effexor XR for atleast 10 years now and it has done wonders for me. We discovered that my issue stems from a shortage of norepinephrine and most anxiety drugs only help with serotonin. That is why the Effexor XR works for me. Just something to look into. well this is what i wake up to laying on me every morning now





anddd a few mischievous acts over the last few months ;p.. i should have named her Trouble!

I use to be really anal about keeping that glass clean... now i cant seem to keep up with the puppy snot on it..


i couldnt even scold her... it was like she was telling me to quit lol


andd she actually chewed through the rubber handle and took chunks out of the aluminum handle.. i then found 3 baby teeth on the ground... she stoped chewing on hard stuff after that lol




btw does anyone know if pits are runners?? cuz i really wana figure out what else shes mixed with. ive never seen a dog run in circles for 20-30 min non stop in my life... she has a path she runs in the backyard every morning and now shes started to dive into the leaf piles. i really need to get a video of it
