I might get one, they can be kept their whole lives in 10 gal, which I could do since I am craving a snake but I don't have the space for another ball python.

If you want one that can comfortably stay in a 10 gallon for life, consider getting a male. I have a female western and they are very very active little snakes. She's only a yearling and I feel she is already cramped in her 10gallon (she's ~23" long, 40gm). Some on here will surely disagree, but I feel once established, this is one species that will appreciate more room than we tend to give bp's.
