Staying in hide is usually a good sign, more then likely he/or she is out at night when its dark wandering the enclosure since bp's are nocturnal by nature or more likely to be out at night. I would be much more concerned if the bp never found a place it was comfortable with, so in short i would venture a guess being in hide during day is the behavior you want and they are out causing trouble while you are asleep

My ball python isnt out hardly at all throughout the day. But gaurenteed sometime around 1, 2, 3, am i will hear him rustling through his artificial plants since its tank is practically at the foot of my bed.

Re: Is it normal for bp to stay in its hide for daysssssss
Yeah, my BPs do that for part of the week... usually 2 days after feeding, and maybe another day or two after that! They aren't the most active of creatures, and probably spend weeks hiding in the wild.

P.S. I am pretty much nocturnal myself, so I observe them at all hours... and sometimes they don't even budge overnight.

Normal is the deffiante word there. If they are coming out often then you got something to worry about. I know it makes for a very boring tank but you just need to learn that BP's are more for the enjoyment of holding them.
