Micro Temp Gun? Anyone Have one

Anyone try or have one of these. How accurate are they in the sence of snakes. Id be mainly using it for computers but wanted to know if any good. Be perfect for onsite calls for computers that over heat.

I tried one of those out a while back. Was not impressed with it much, and it actually stopped working pretty quickly. I use the 412L from Reptilebasics.com and I am really happy with it's performance and quality.

I have the same one you use from Reptilebasics. Just wanted to know how good it would be for computer work. I been getting many service calls with computers shutting down from over heating and these are perfect to pinpoint the heat problem.

They look cool but i kinda figured they would be leary from the size.

I never understood the whole IR temp gun thing. How can it read the temp of the warm/cool sides through the plastic or glass?

IR is infrared laser. Which is naked to the eye most of the time. It reads the temps from the laser hitting the surface and bouncing back to the curcuit board inside the the device. Same as radar guns used in police cars.

No no haha, I understand that, but wouldn't it be reading the temp of the plastic or glass, not the substrate within the enclosure?

well inted of buying a new temp gun for the computer biz i ended up buying a Wireless Mini CCTV Nightvision Spy Cam to use during breeding season. Be able to link it to my computer tv tuner and record locks and or egg laying at night time.

only bad thing is bought it from a company in Hong Kong so wont be here for like 5 days or so.
