This nice little sulcata was found wandering across the street. A nice Samaritan picked it up to move it out of harms way when she realized that she didn't recognize the animal as native. Lucky for the tortoise she decided to pick him up and research a bit. She had called a few people and one person said it was a Russian Tortoise, In fact a male Russian because he has the "spurs" on his front legs.
Once I cleared the id up (defiantly not a Russian..lol) I started spinning my wheels and was able to find a very knowledgeable person to foster. IN the middle of August this lil one will have lots of outdoor space (No not in CT, just not possible to keep them up here in New England properly, IMO).
So all parties involved were very happy with the outcome.
Crazy thou.. My friend and I keep joking about the Russian African Tortoise.lol
I wouldn't have doubted it to be a Russian, sadly we find or clients find and call us. At least they can somewhat make it here but it is just so horrible to release your pet into the wild..Makes me nuts.
Thanks for reading,
