Anyone know of any places in AZ to sell reptiles?

I'm not looking into shipping, just selling some reptiles. I wanted to sell my Corn snake, my King snake, and my Giant Leopard gecko. So anyone (who lives in AZ, since you may know of some places) that knows of any places in AZ (such as in Phoenix, Mesa, Scottsdale) where I could sell those reptiles I would gladly appreciate it. I would like to call before going in to ask, so I know if I could sell them instead of going all the way over there to ask and the answer may be a no.

Re: Anyone know of any places in AZ to sell reptiles?

Just a rule of thumb, you probably won't get much. Pet stores will try to give you probably 25% of what you're asking. They will say they can get them this cheap wholesale and that. Instance. I had a western hognose I wanted to sell and I paid like $75 for them, I really wanted around $50, but I could only get like $20 from a pet store. As far as your leopard gecko goes, I was looking into getting one, what kind do you have? I'm looking to get a raptor, with the full red eyes. Your best bet to possibly get rid of your 2 snakes would be to probably put them on craigslist(as much as I hate to say it) and put a small adoption fee. Just PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE make sure they are going to a good home, ask the people lots of questions, if they don't get majority of them right, don't let them get the snake, you don't want any inexperienced people getting them i'm sure. They do have some knowledgeable people like me that look for snakes on craigslist, because sometimes people don't realize the value of what they are selling or so.

I'm not sure of any shops around that buy them. Some might do consignment.

I've seen consignment animals at Arizona Reptile Center (who I love to death)

If you hold out till this fall, there are about two or three reptile shows locally. Once is Phoenix and two in Mesa that I'm sure you could sell them at.

To sell at a show, you have to have a table, because I believe if you're caught selling otherwise, you can get kicked from the show, I believe, not 100% sure.

Well, at the moment I'm seeing if I could do some store credit or sel them at ARC. I go there to get my mice and rats for my snakes. And if your not a vendor at the show, I doubt you could sell any reptiles or anything. I don't think people would let someone go in the place with their pets either. So I don't think I could do much with the shows. The only show I know of is the expo that on November 14-15 in Tempe (http://www.phxreptileexpo.com/) too.

Goto yellowpages.com and search for reptile stores, with store credit you may be able to get a bit more, and possibly a trade of some sort, that is a great idea, and I can't believe I didn't think of it. You can always get tanks, lights, food, substrate with store credit, go for it, give them a call, it can't hurt, and all they can say is no.
