Is the Python Hunt All Hype?

    http://www.palmbeachpost.com/accent/...30pythons.html

Palm Beach Post article questioning some of the python hysteria. Nice to see some more accuracy in reporting.

I LOVED THAT ARTICLE! Summed up perfectly. They called out the people trying to say there is over 100,000 pythons in the everglades.

Which there very well COULD be.

BUT, in the days the hunt has been going, I've heard only 1 Burm has been found.

Seems to me that if such an out of control problem in such a small ecosystem with so many snakes that you'd be catching alot more than they are.

Love that article, most level-headed article I think I've EVER seen about snakes.

I agree, 3 days of hunt by experianced python folks, and ONE burm found(and that one was the 1st day in a spot RIGHT where they had media).

Re: Is the Python Hunt All Hype?

I wouldn't be surprised to hear people (politicians and talking heads) accuse the python hunters of not reporting most of the snake's they come across because they (the hunters) are part of the reptile community and want to protect it.
