I think "reality TV" which seems more fake and staged, than real, seems to be the new generation of daytime soap opera. You forgot to list the whole plethora of "_________ of Love" series that is always on or Celebrity Rehab, where you can watch a 50 year old drug addict act like a fool (Gary Busey)

I don't watch any reality show religiously, but I do watch Hells Kitchen, Kitchen Nightmares, American Chopper and Survivor from time to time, and I watch American Idol when it gets to the top 5 or so.

You forgot the only ones I've ever caught glimpses of in the past few years: The Ultimate Fighter, Whale Wars(previously mentioned), The Deadliest Catch

Is the ultimate fighter considered a reality tv show? If so that would be mine. My wife's favorite would be Jon and Kate. I honestly hate that show and don't know why my wife likes it so much but she feels the same about the ultimate fighter. We both like intervention (if that is considered reality tv)...

I don't watch a lot of TV, and I hate all the dancing, singing, dating reality shows.....but I've been hooked on "I survived a Japanese Game Show"

I watch Big Brother, and I like LA Ink and Ice Road Truckers.

I'm sure they all suck, for the most part. I know plenty of people/families that are crazy, so if I want to waste my time watching people go about their lives for entertainment, I'd just go to one of their houses. Other than that, why would I want to spend any time watching other people? I watch very little T.V., so a show better have some good writers if they want me to watch it.

But Hell's Kitchen and Kitchen Nightmares are great, and Joe Millionaire was hilarious, just for the fact that a bunch of gold diggers got owned on national television. My g/f used to watch John and Kate + 8, and I couldn't stand that psychotic wench. Every time she would get done watching that show I'd ask her if John finally snapped and just walked, throwing a peace sign (or flipping the bird) as he hopped in his car and vamped, never looking back. I was ecstatic when I heard they were sleeping with other people and that they were splitting up.

I remember one that was pretty funny. I don't remember the a ctual name but it was something like My Obnoxious Fiance. Of course Jackass was so funny when it first came out on MTV I used to laugh till my stomach hurt...
