JLOWE, I would encourage you to try and convince your mom by presenting her with the facts and trying to get her to interact with a little bp at a pet store. Maybe print off some of those "cute" baby bp pics have and leave them laying around. As a last resort, name the cutest, most relaxed bp at the pet store after your mom then introduce them.

that would prob help alot i know there is so little i can do but i think the most part is she is scared of it biting her but the facts should help with that and i plan on taking her to the pet store down the street so she can see how calm they are
