I love dry, hot regions. Arizona, New Mexico, Nevada... But I would choose hot and humid over cold and dry. I hate Chicago winters.

no matter how you slice it, being hot sucks way more than being cold

Yea but then you would spend more money on A/C because your are lowering the temperature which means your thermostat will have to keep restricting and allowing electricity to pass to maintain your set temp.

Re: Would you rather live in a hot, humid area or a cold, dry area?

I like a cool, steady climate. I hate snow (or at least, the feet that we deal with here in western NY.) Thus, I am moving to Pacifica, CA; not very sunny; cool throughout the year without being cold enough for a bunch of snow. Perfecto! I get too lazy and exhausted in super-heat. And wintertime with lots of snow, just makes me want to hibernate.

I prefer cold and dry. I do not like the hot and humid weather at all.
