Re: i need help
I see this kind of post all the time. There isn't much we can recommend, unfortunately. The only thing you can do is talk to her, or wait. You can't try to force her or anything.
I suggest talking about how easy to care for they are and how gentle they are. Talk about their small size. Tell her that most reptile tanks have a place where you can put a padlock so they can't escape.
Good luck my friend.

As long as you live with her, you live by her rules. You can always wait until you're out on your own to get one.

Re: i need help
Also, you might wanna tell her they have no true fangs and even if it were to bite you (Which only happens if stressed or antagonized or feeding) you would only feel a pinch. I have been bitten twice and only once broke skin. You could always go to a pet store and see if she'll handle one. But do you research before buying!

Re: i need help
You could also research different enclosures, and show her which ones are basically escape-proof (like my glass-front wooden cage that has a sliding lock). Then if you save your own money to buy the cage & snake, she might be more willing to give it a try. Otherwise, like the other posters said, you'll just have to wait until you're on your own.

Re: i need help
Well, how I got my mom to get my a BP (she kept saying no every time I asked because my sis had a BP and it was really mean and wouldn't eat) was telling her facts about them and taking her to the pet store to look at them and handle them. Eventually (with 3 weeks of doing so) she let me get a BP and I've had this BP for a year now. My mom used to say no every time I asked for a snake but when I was 10 she finally let me get one and the one I got was an albino Corn snake.
Btw, to prevent an escape I use these enclosures that come with their own lid. The lid is a screen top and it slides in and locks in place so the snake cannot escape by pushing the lid up. With regular screen tops the lid just come right off but there are these clamps that prevent it. Only one of my snakes has one of the lids but I put a heavy object on the end opposite from the light so the snake cannot lift up the lid.
