Lighting (And not as in Heat)

This is a question of curiosity. I was using a heat lamp for a while. But it sucked humidity away so I stopped using it and UTH seems to be doing the trick. My question is, do bps need light at all? The lamp provides some light for them. But when it's off there are some days where I am not home at all and they are in the dark all day. I was just wondering if over time this may effect them. I know most of you don't use lamps. But do you leave the room light on or what.

    Thanks.

Normal ambient light is fine, such as that coming through a window.
At least some kind of cycle so it's not 24 hours of darkness.

Yeah it should be fine they dont require any lighting, but for my snake in my room the light gets through the blinds even when theyre shut so its not in direct sunlight but you can still tell its day time out. Well. my ball can
