Mazuri 6F vs. 9F
I was wondering if Mazuri 9F is OK for ASFs? And if so, is it ok for a longer period of time?
I'm asking cause I ordered a 50# bag of 6F and the goofs at the store got 9F. And of course I was in a hurry when I picked it up from the store and didn't double check the bag. I'm really PO'd because I was VERY adamant that I wanted 6F and she even repeated 6F to me over the phone when she told me it was in. Hopefully they just gave me the wrong bag at the store and the 6F is still there. UUhhgggg! This food thing is driving me CRAZY! I can't get the right hog feed around here so I just bit the bullet and ordered Mazuri and its still not right. I think I'm done venting now....

The 9f should be ok, where ever you order your feed from they should be able to order the purina hog feed for you, mine does.

Re: Mazuri 6F vs. 9F
The 6F is not a hog feed, it is a rodent block.
I use 9F for all of my rats right now. I have used 6F, 9F, Harlan, dog food, hog feed, Mazuri and Harlan worked exceptionally well. Rats didnt like the hog feed, and dog food made them stick something terrible.
I'm about to try out Kent 19%, and likely order some more harlan.

I've called several places and they could get "hog feed" but were not very helpful in getting me the nutrition information to compare to the country acres. I gave up trying and just ordered Mazuri.
Thank you for the help! I wanted to make sure the 9f is ok for ASFs before I went and fed 50#s of it to my rats.

Re: Mazuri 6F vs. 9F
I was looking at the mazuri 6F and 9F %s. Looks like the only difference between 6F and 9F is the fat %? 6F being 6% and 9F being 9%.
Is that the only difference between the 2? Am I correct?

Re: Mazuri 6F vs. 9F
I printed both PDFs Mazuri provides on the nutrition content of each and there were other differences in the nutrient amounts. One I noticed was different was the vitamin D3. 6F: 2,800 and 9F: 681 (IU/kg). Also vitamin E.

...stuck rats...I'm still giggling. Seriously though, I hope they were ok.
