Female 5 yo rescue Redgroup RTB

Been gone awhile but had a quick Q and update on a rescue I picked up back in February.

    Backstory:
I rescued a 5 yo EBV Redgroup RTB who was SEVERELY under sized, kept in a 20L tank and fed 1 large MOUSE a week since birth.

She is massive. She's grown over a foot and more than tripled her weight.

Now the odd situation now...She has shed only 2 times and was just about to shed again, skin is very dark and eyes are completely milky. Been keeping her humidity in range for her shed like I always have etc etc. She last ate a day or 2 before the milky eyes appeared and I wake up yesterday and BAM! Eyes are no longer milky but skin is dark as heck and there is no shed in tank...

WTF? How did her eyes clear up and now have no shed? She also seems a little more skittish still like she usually gets during shed. Everything else is normal, regular poos, regular eating, regular handling, etc...she really is the best snake I've ever had.

What would cause the shedding to stop and what can I do to help it along?

Snakes typically get the red belly, then the milky eyes and dark look, then the eyes clear up a bit, and then they shed...

She'll probably shed in the next couple days.

Ah thanks man...it was just suprising because it was the first time her eyes went clear before the shed. The milky eyes were also there for a week now.

Ya that sounds more normal to me. All of my snakes clear up before they shed.

No worries Wrongside... Hopefully you just bumped the humidity up a bit once you noticed she went into shed, and she should have a healthy shed!

I had a corn snake that never seemed to have eyes clear up before a shed, they just went milky, and then shed would be found.

However many snakes go milky, and clear up again before shedding.

Yep. The milky then clear is what I've always seen with my snake.

Poor snake though. Glad you rescuedher.
