What's color got to do with it....

I'll tell you guys what I have noticed, the solid brown/wild colored ASFs get quite a bit larger than the "pied" butt or mohawk colored ones. Downside so far is the solids tend to be more aggressive when removing and live feeding the few live feeder BPs I've got. (the het pied PBs are my picky ones)

The albinos I've been told by a breeder of large ASF colonies said to feed them off rather than breeding them. He noticed they have small litters and produce less milk for their babies, meaning it takes much longer for their babies to grow. They're cool looking but I feed them off once they get to hopper size.

The Mohawks are more laid back, I can actually touch them and they get good size at maturity.

The Pied Face/Butts tend to stay on the smaller side. They like the mohawks have good size litters and get up to breeding size quick.

This is just what I've noticed in my ASF experience so far. What have you guys notice?

Mine seem to be going good so far, I did have my first black one born in one of the last litters.

I will keep watch and see how the breeding trends go for the most part we have the dual colored ones.

I don't believe color has anything to do with it, and the health of the ASF's is more dominated by the health of the lines you are working with.

I think it's just your lines.
My largest ones are all pied cinnamon and my RED's have no difference in litter size or survivial compared to the agouti ones.

I have a 1.3. When I got them the male was about 40g, he was 65 last time I checked.

One female, brown wild type looking was about 30, she was 48 last time I check. She doesnt seem pregnant either.

The last female is white with black dots in the back and a black hood. She was about 30 too when I got her. She was 37 last time I checked.

But I dont think their weights have nothing to do with their color. The pied seems to be alot more shy than the others, and I see her in the wheel and eating less than the other 2. On top of that, because of her low weight, she seems to be getting dominated by the other female.
