We have had a Doberman at the shelter I volunteer at for a couple weeks, He came in scared and with mites. The mites are being treated and he is running around playing happily now, but I think is ears were cut wrong because hers looks so much cleaner and nicer than his. His just don't look right.
It's extremely hard to find a vet that is good at cropping ears. We drove 6 hours to get her from a good breeder that has a great vet crop her pups ears before sending them home. If she ever proves out in the show ring and I have a litter from her I will be driving 6 hours to get their ears done at the same vet. That's how hard it is to find someone good!! Also posting takes a lot of time and effort, even more if they are show cropped-extremely long like Athena's ears. I've been posting her ears for a week at a time till about three weeks ago, she was 7 months old.

And by the way she is beautiful! I love Dobermans and would love to have one. Sadly the boyfriend doesn't want a large dog. He doesn't mind our Miniature Pinschers but doesn't want anything bigger than that. Of course with it being his house I say ok for now.
I feed her Nature's Recipe "easily digestible nutrition". I spoke with a few people about her sensitive stomach and they recommended lamb. So she's on the lamb recipe of Nature's Recipe. The first five ingredients are: lamb meal, cracked pearled barely, oatmeal, ground rice, and chicken fat. It also has a bunch of vitamins and minerals. It doesn't have any beef, corn, wheat, dairy, by-products, fillers, or artificial preservatives.

I'm sure there is better food out there, but this is what I've found to work best for her tummy and her coat. The pet store labels it as holistic, I assume it is? I've tried the really expensive brands $50 for a 30 pound bag and it still didn't help her tummy! Nutro and Natural UltraMix are the only two I can think of off hand that I've tried because they were expensive and I thought they would work...

    Who is her breeder?
