That's pretty reassuring, glad to know he's not the first weird-headed little runt! We're definitely keeping him thoroughly hydrated.

He seems a bit tired today, and is really enjoying his hot-end. His "normal" sized siblings are all pretty exhausted too though, so I'm not *too* concerned. He's alert and flicking his tongue, I think the world outside the egg is a bit overwhelming, but we're keeping a close eye on him just in case he needs to go see the vet.

It's pretty much all I can do to leave him alone right now. I have to keep reminding myself that he's fragile and shouldn't be snuggled until he's started, stable, and strong!

    Re: Goober, from the boob-egg

Pretty much all you can do is house him properly, wait til he sheds and offer a live pinky mouse. You can leave it in overnight if you want to. Babies generally feed better that way anyway, especially for the first time.

His head is only shaped that way because he doesn't have any fat reserves there. It will go to normal as he gains weight. No worries

Wow; that is a tiny baby! I've never seen pics of one smaller. I wish you luck with him. I'd be interested to see/read his growth rates as time goes by.

    Re: Goober, from the boob-egg

I know you've already heard this a million times...but he is SO completely and absolutely adorable!! And did I maybe see this guy over at deviantART?? He's definitely a charmer!! I love his colors and pattern...the spot on his head and the little spot in his first neck stripe are very cool too...and I think his head shape is very endearing It will be interesting to see how big he'll get...he should be able to eat pinkies no problem. Good luck with the cute lil guy!!
