Lost Snake
My wife suffered a major stroke while we were caving this past march. It took rescue crews several hours to get her out. While we were in the hospital, which was several weeks, we had her brother take care of our animals. While he was caring for our red tail boa, Het. Albino Ballpython, and female Albino Ballpython, he left the lid off the cage off the female Albino Ballpython. This broke my heart because it was my seven year old sons snake and it took me for ever to save up enough to by her for him. There is no real purpose to this post except for me to get it off my chest to other snake lovers. Thanks for listening.

Re: Lost Snake
No, he is not that mature and responsible. I would not of left him in charge if it wasn't such an emergency, and the sercumstances left me not thinking clearly. I doubt we will find him it has has been over three months since he escaped and I have looked everywhere.

Re: Lost Snake
I think you can put out little boxes with holes in them all around your house, and but in a little mouse as bait, so your snake will head towards the food, I'm not sure if this will help, but it's what I would do I my snake went missing. Good luck finding your snake.
Edit: I'm pretty sure snakes can go a decent amount of time without food, so your snake should still crawling around in your house somewhere.

Re: Lost Snake
yeah until you find a body ( or smell a body) there a large chance the snake alive still I would consider trying taknig a tank and settnig a single rodent up in the tan kfor the snake ot home in on and see if you find her sittign ther relaxing after a good feed .also a strip of tape would help give you a tracking if she moves on since the tape will stick to her ( and some vegie oil will remove it ( iam told)

Re: Lost Snake
i would not recommend the tape thing really. Tape and snakes are never a good mix and even though vegtable oil will get the edhesive to loosen up i would not recommend it. The several small cages with a mouse is not a bad idea and you can place lines of flour on the floor and that will give you a visual reference if it does crawl through it. Hope everything works out for you. Todd
