    humidity problem

So, usually people have a problem with too low humidity. Mine is too high at 65%-70% for the past few days. A couple of days ago I poured a bit of bottled water through the screen of the cage because I do not have a mister. I figured it'd evaporate in a day or 2 but it's been high for quite a while now. It has been humid here in CT lately and is still now. A little of the coco fiber is still damp on the cool side but the warm side looks pretty dry. What do you guys think I should do? Will it hurt my bp if he is in this type of humidity for a week or 2? I don't want him catching anything. Please help.

Try a different substrate like newspaper or paper towels. Use a smaller water dish, ventilate the area. I've been having the same problems with my tub (I live in MA) recently because of all the rain. Only mine's been around 80% and the humidity in my house is around 75%.

try using a room dehumidifier. lower the humidity in the room and the tanks should lower as well.

    Re: humidity problem

If the substrate is wet, get it out ASAP.
If the substrate is dry (or very slightly damp) and it's just the ambient humidity you're worried about, you have options.
65% isn't bad. I wouldn't recommend any higher, but 65% won't hurt your snake. 70% could, especially if the temps are off.
Your best bet would be to dry it out. As others have said, you can switch to newspaper, aspen, or another dry substrate, or use a dehumidifier.

Wet substrate can lead to some potential bad problems, scale rot, so I would replace it with some dry substrate, aspen seems the best IMO.

I would recommend next time instead of pouring water in the tank, just get a spray bottle from the store for like $1 and spray the inside of the tank! It's a whole lot easier to control the humidity that way, I think.
