Humidity + RI Q's

Just a couple quick questions. Is 70% humidity too high for around the clock? I am using aspen and it is a 34 qt tub. No wet substrate or anything like that.

Also, what causes an RI? I've always wondered the specifics in this area.

RIs can be caused by bacteria or mold. Both of which grow well in higher humidity.
However, I'm unsure if the humidity itself weakens your snakes immune system.

Personally, I think 70% is too high for the normal humidity of your enclosure. You may want to try drilling another hole or two in top or on the sides of your enclosure.

As with human illnesses there are several different cause's of RI in snakes. Any combination of Stress, low temps, excessive humidity, unclean living conditions, even viral infection.
