Re: Who has seen Harry Potter 6 yet?
I have never been a fan of the movies, but my sister convinced me to go with her. We went to the 12 'o clock showing and waited two hours in line with all these adolesent children dressed in their best wizard and witch outfits. It was quite a sight to behold, some had been there since 5 in the afternoon.
I thought they did a decent job for some parts of the movie. But the climax killed it for me, they messed it up big time...

Terrible. Do not waste your money unless you enjoy 16-year-old's romance drama. Because that is how I would describe 75% of the scenes. They deviated a lot from the book, making up mushy relationships and spending most of the movie focused on these. I liked some of the older HP movies for the action, mystery, and cool special effects, but unfortunately they have really cut down on all of these in the latest movie. I think this movie was made in the spirit of "Twilight" and aimed at pre-teen girls.
But hey, if you like that kind of stuff, then maybe you'll enjoy the movie.

Re: Who has seen Harry Potter 6 yet?
I'm not a big Harry Potter fan, I haven't read any of the books, but I have seen all of the movies. While I've enjoyed each movie to varying degrees, this was the first movie in the series that made me really anticipate the next one in the series. I thoroughly enjoyed H6!
Speaking of Twilight... they previewed New Moon prior to the movie. Talk about the worst special effects I have ever seen in a major movie. It's clear that the producers/directors of this movie care very little about it, and realize they can rake in the big cash from its teen/preteen fans regardless of whatever crap they put up on the screen.

Re: Who has seen Harry Potter 6 yet?
It's OK. They left out soooooooo much from the book to the movie. Which I understand they had to do for time constraints, but I felt they left out too much and the plot came across as fragmented. I went with people who hadn't read the books and had only seen the movies and they were confused a lot.

Re: Who has seen Harry Potter 6 yet?
Alright...things must be said here.
The movie was awesome. The best one yet IMHO. Not because it told the most story from the book (that was #1), or because it had the most action (4 and 5), but because it combined all these elements well!
Movie 3 was awful because it told the least story AND all those 'extra cinematic' scenes had nothing to do with the story at all. They just wanted it to look nice.
But movie 6 still told the important, core elements of the story while still keeping it a movie that captured the attention with good cinematic effects. Yes, they left out a lot...but they had to or this movie would have been 4 hours long. What they left in, though, was what needed to be told: the story of the horcruxes and the issues with the kids in how their lives were changing.
Remember, Movies and Books are two VERY different mediums. You can do things with one that could never be done with the other. When turning one into the other, there is a lot that gets lost, changed, or reduced. That doesn't mean it's bad, it just means it's different.
And I don't know where the idea that those relationships were made up came from. Every relationship in that movie was in the book. These kids are now 16...you cannot tell a story about 16 year olds without emotional relations and kissing. Also, these stories are from the British Isles where they like to focus on different things from Americans. Maybe all the relationship stuff doesn't appeal to us, but it does to them.
Anyway, that's my rant for the day. I adore the books and (most of the) movies alike and can't wait to see what they do with movie 7.

I just saw it I am one of those that LOVED it!! It was a bit fragmanted, but I expected some of that as it was such a LONG book. This was the first time I got the feeling that it was pieced togeather. Over all I really enjoyed it. I was actually surprised at how much I did. I will definetly get the movie when it comes
