Preserving Egg Shells?

I've never seen this, but was kind of curious.
When my eggs hatch, is there any way of preserving the egg shells for educational use in the future?

Any ideas of a balm or preservative that I could use on them? Maybe put them in a little glass case of some sort?

Thanks, I was really curious if anyone had thought about this or done it before.

I just wash them out and blow into them to puff them up a bit and let them dry. They get kind of brittle, but usable for educational shows. Use ones that pipped on their own instead of being cut, it makes a better display. That way when you explain to your audience how the baby snake cuts it's way out of the shell with it's egg tooth, you won't have people asking if all the babies make those big triangular holes in their eggs.

Yeah, if you take them out of the incubator as soon as the baby is out, and rinse them out really well, they're pretty tough--then you just set them somewhere to dry, and they will shrink a bit, and turn really tough and a bit brittle.

I still have my first ball pythons egg that the breeder sent with him. I think he did the same thing, just rinsed out and let dry. It's a little wrinkled and brittle but still around without getting gross.

Also, once they dry out completely you can use matte finish spray varnish (clear) to spray them.

I sent this same question To da museum. i rinse the egg out in warm water til everythin is clean out... then i stuff it wit cotton so it can keep its shape. place bak into da incubatr for a couple of hours. now u have a nice shape dry egg.
