    Re: Het Markings?

Heterozygous is a term that means it carries one of the genes that your looking for. Co-dominant animals are heterozygous until you get a 'super' which is homozygous.

For recessive genes like Albinism, Pied, and Axanthic; heterozygous does not have a visual form. Because it is recessive, the Normal looking gene is dominant in that it completely shows over the recessive gene. Until it is homozygous and has both genes and no normal gene then it will show the genes trait.

So, a truly recessive animal or a Het, will not have any markers or characteristics that can determine the hidden gene.
