egg cutting ?
so its day 57, and one of the eggs has started to cave in and the others have started to soften a lot but not cave in, i have never cut eggs before but im wondering if this would be a safe time to do so? any info would be much appreciated!!!!

Yes, it's ok. Try not to cut any large veins still attached to the inside of the shell and try not to nick the baby. Small, shallow cuts with a very sharp scissors. Go slowly.

I had to cut eggs for the first time yesterday. It's nerve racking at first, but gets easier with each egg. Good luck!
Oh, as Mark said don't forget to candle them to avoid the larger veins.

Its no big deal if you hit a small vein. What temp did you incubate at?
At 89F mine pip around day 52, and are all out by day 54-56.

....just to add what everyone is saying about the veins...
If you are nervous about hitting veins, candle the eggs and trace the veins where you plan on cutting with a pencil. It is easy and makes cutting a whole lot easier, and cleaner! Good Luck!
