    New shed

Heres Morticia after her first shed with us. It was a rough one too, I kept the humidity up by spraying with water and even gave her a humid hide which she didnt want to use. it didnt come off in one nice piece, it actually split and she got most of it off and I soaked her and the rest came off but throughout her body you can see teeny tiny pieces. Any suggestions for nest time, she had alot of trouble starting her shed too. I do have a log and stuff she can use, she kinda seemed clueless to me. How would I know also if the eye caps came off I mean it seems like they did. Anyways here our girl!!

    Re: New shed

She is really dark. I like that. What i would do next time is to get a tupperware container, fill it with damp moss, seal it, and poke holes in it. This should jump her humidity.

I also take damp towels and cover the tops of my enclosures, which works really good. But you have to change them every few days because it can build bacteria. Also, when you are misting your enclosure, make sure you aren't misting the snake itself. If it's wet, it can have trouble keeping the shed together.

    Re: New shed

My guys seem to have a few flakes of skin after shedding when I first got them. I think once they got used to the conditions in their tubs this stopped.

    Pretty snake tho!
