its preference and what works best for the owner. some snakes will not take anything but mice or just rats. Feed what works per snake.

gram per gram rats and mice are jsut as nutritional since no study has been done to prove otherwise.

I've feed mine 2 mice and I noticed that sometimes they don't take the second. I think it is in your best interest to go with one prey item.

I have fed her 2 mice a few times and she eats them both. So i guess that's good?

Well.. She eats anything and everything lol. Hmm, and i did hear that rats were better for nutrition. Guess they were wrong?

You could try to switch her over to rats. You will probably have to at some point unless you want to keep feeding multiple mice (up to 3 or 4 sometimes).

Mine are both garbage disposals when it comes to food but sometimes they don't eat the multiples. I have since switched to rats and they made the switch just fine.

Re: Which should i feel my 1 y.o

My one year old snakes get either 3-4 adult mice per feeding, or 1-2 small rats. Some get 1 sm rat and 1-2 adult mice. It doesn't matter whether you choose to feed mice or rats, just that you are feeding it enough.

That depends. I get small live rats for $1.50 (they used to be $1.25), and live adult mice for $0.60, or frozen for $0.40 or $0.50, so 3 mice cost less than one small rat for me.

with my 3 year old 45" normal BP i go for one large rat instead of two smaller ones. i tried 2 smaller rats once (being cheaper and all...) and he ate the first one no problem but the second one he didnt even touch, i thought he actually became friends with the little guy....lol. they were sleeping together when i checked up on him an hour later. very funny.
