Re: A pleasant surprise from a buddy
Assuming the snakes parents were striped like the baby then it could be that the snakes striped apperance is a genetic thing. Granted it would not be called a genetic stripe but one could say it has a stripe that is genetic. Just figured I would throw that in there in case the friend that sold this snake is actually proved the stripe on this snakes back as genetic.

Re: A pleasant surprise from a buddy
he told me genetic as in the parents were stripes and they produced 50% normals and 50% stripes. So would that still be considered genetic or would I have to wait to breed him and see if its genetic?

this is another one my buddy was wanting to know if I was interested in. I want to say he told me this one is a reduced pattern?

It has reduced patterning, but it is not completely reduced - there are still alien eyes in some of the side patterns.
THIS is a genetic stripe ball python, yours is not what is referred to as the Genetic Stripe mutation:

The trait may be genetic, but it's not what those in the industry think of when you say "Genetic Striped". The link above shows a true Genetic Striped.
He's still a very lovely looking snake - I love normals!
