When do you weigh your snake?

Just a random question. I know weight varies before and after poops/etc.

I personally weigh right before I feed my snakes. Because the little cali king has pooped his last feed out by then and my BP because it's just easier to keep the same routine with them all, even if she doesn't poop before or eat recently or whatever.

    Poll is multiple choice.

After it poops or before feeding is both a good choice since they already have the last meal they ate out of their system so you can tell the real weight.

Re: When do you weigh your snake?

I tend to weigh monthly. Generally I don't worry about whether they've pooped or not, because unless they haven't eaten in a month or so there's more than likely still waste inside.

Re: When do you weigh your snake?

Once a month, during the big clean, usually in the first 2 weeks of said month. Sometimes I forget to weigh them though...

Re: When do you weigh your snake?

Pretty much whenever the mood strikes. It's usually a few days before or after feeding, since I don't tend to handle them much right before or after a feeding. I want to weight the big girls weekly- gotta get better about that!

Re: When do you weigh your snake?

I'm not keeping strict records with the only snake I currently have.

I monitor my geckos pretty thoroughly, weighing at least every week. While I don't record the weights, I'm mostly just making sure my female currently laying eggs keeps up a good weight.

If I was breeding snakes, they would all get a weigh-in after every shed or every month.. still undecided on the best system.
