    Re: Reduced pattern?

2nd and 3rd have the reduced pattern. Im not sure if its worth a whole lot more but i would certainly pay a little extra for a reduced female.

Reduced pattern is not always genetic but I would pay a bit more for the breeder female reduced patterns. They are gorgeous.

And yes, the second and third pictures both show reduced patterns.

    Re: Reduced pattern?

I'd have to disagree with the statement that "reduced pattern is not always genetic".. As the pattern of a snake is most certainly determined by genetics and can be passed on to offspring. Often enough though, it isn't a single gene mutation that causes the reduced pattern.

Just like tall humans have a genetic disposition to have tall children, reduced pattern BPs have a genetic disposition to have reduced pattern baby snakes.

What I meant was that reduced pattern is not really a morph. It is not always passed down to its offspring.

We shall see - this girl was bred to a pastel last year (only hatched normals) and all the normals were very busy patterned - not a reduced on among them:

This year, I bred her to my tiger male, who is genetic, so if the normals got their "busy-ness" from the normal gene from the pastel, hopefully I'll get reduceds out of her from the tiger gene.
