    another temp question...

hey the temps in m bp tank are the following:

    warm side:88-92

cool side: 70-80(depending on what time of the day it is)

just a quick question... iff the temps on the cool side drop below 75, does it matter as long as they have a warm spot? my bp stil thermoregulates so she seems to like it. the humidity is between 50-60 which is right. any ideas?

and im using a 10-20g zoomed heat mat, and when i move my bp into a 25qt in a week or so, will it matter if the heat mat doesnt cover ALL of the warm side? it is under the warm side hide so she has a place that is alwayss warm.

    Re: another temp question...

I usually shoot for a cool side of around 80. 70 is a bit low and may force you snake to the hot spot even if it doesn't really want to be just so it's not cold. How are you measuring the temps?
As for as when you switch to a tub, you can shoot for around 1/3 or the tub to be covered. I find temps way easier to keep in a tub.

You got it. That sounds good. 75 is about the minimum you could have for a cool side, although I still prefer a few degrees higher.

If you're having that much trouble with your cool side temps, a second UTH is probably a good idea. From what I've learned from both this site and books, having the heat in the tank is one of the single most important things.
