Who's The Daddy????

Well, my 3rd 4th and 5th clutches are all hatched out now and I wanted to share some baby pics with my admittedly louse camera skills.

This year I set aside Six girls to try some 'Who's The Daddy' clutches. I kept breeding my Lesser and Spider to the group over and over again. I saw them
all lock up numerous times, I also ran my yellow belly through a few times as well, just to make sure the job was well done, I ran my old pastel through each girl once. Four out of the six gave me eggs this year (first time clutches for all of them) two 5 egg clutches and two 6 egg clutches so not too bad for first timers.

These started hatching a little over a week ago so some of the babies are already starting to darken up and getting a bit hazy in preparation for shedding their baby skin. So can you guess 'Who's the Daddy?'

3rd clutch (actually 4th to hatch) Contains..... (drum roll please)... 2.1 Pastel and 1.1 Normal...




Then of course the 4th clutch (which was actually the 5th to hatch) 2.1 pastels and 1.1 normal... Again




Then my 5th Clutch which was actually the 3rd to hatch.... Can you guess Who da daddy??? yup... 2.1 Pastels and 2.1 Normals.... As a bonus for a 6 egg clutch, I get an extra Normal male... Yay me....




Man, I tell ya. That pastel of mine must have Ninja sperm. Can you just picture it? All those pastel sperm dressed all in black with their Katinas and throwing stars. Hiding in the shadows and silently assassinating all of those lesser and spider spermatozoon??? Yup, that's gotta be it.

I've got one more 'Who's the Daddy' clutch what should be hatching within the next week. Some of you know how badly I've been wishing for some female lessers over the last couple of years, but it just hasn't worked out yet. So if you could PLEASE send me your best wishes and positive thoughts for some female lessers, I'd really appreciate it.

Well, at least they're all nice and healthy babies. And that's the important thing.

Love those "who yo' daddy" clutches. If you keep trying them you will get a spilt clutch one of these days.
