DIY disposable hides
I designed a disposable snake hide that fits the 6 quart sterilite tubs perfectly.
all you need is a pack of card stock from walmart its around $5
and some double sided tape its about $3. so that make it under $10 for 150 hides.
just follow the link, click download, then print it out.
after that just cut it out then cut the dotted lines. then assemble it with the tape.

Re: DIY disposable hides
I don't get why you would want disposable hides, when you would have to make so many of them over and over..
Also, I would worry about them getting demolished and the tape getting stuck to the snake from the hide getting wet or something.

well 1 its cheaper than buying the plastic ones. also you don't have to worry about cleaning them just throw them away. none of the ones I made have come unstuck but if the tape unsticks from the paper I doubt it would stick to the snake. I just figured that it was more sanitary than the plastic ones that I used to use. also I don't have access to them unless I order them online.
either way I think they work pretty good and I just thought id let others give it a try.

Yeah, I don't know. Anytime someone mentions 'Tape' and 'Snakes' in the same sentence I get this twitchy feeling in the back of my neck. Having spent plenty of time with a jar of olive oil and a box of q-tips I can tell you that snakes and tape really don't go all that well together. You might want to try a glue stick instead. It could even be cheaper.

yeah either way as long as its stuck together it doesn't matter. the double sided tape I use is just scotch tape and if it pulls apart it seems like it pulls paper off with it and isn't sticky anymore.

Re: DIY disposable hides
I have made a few of these hides and when using the double sided tape it doesn't come undone to see for yourself build one and pull it apart the double sided tape is no longer sticky because it pulls the paper off with it making it impossible to stick to anything. It works just like white glue, when it drys and you pull it apart. But if you still don't believe then just use white glue instead

Re: DIY disposable hides
I made mine out of plastic containers from the dollar store. Cheap, and they can be cleaned easily. I cut them down to size and used hot glue. Safe, and did I mention cheap?
