never ever use tape with snakes. the humidity could cause it to peel and stick to your snake

Moved it for ya. How big is your bp? For smaller snakes I buy small plastic red bowls and cut an opening. They are 4 for a buck and work great for up to about 400g or so. After that I either buy something (bigger) similar or use newspaper and they can use the entire first layer as a hide and just choose based on temp where to hide.

tape + snake = BAD NEWS. Trust me. You think "oh he can't get on it" but yes, yes he can.

A better idea is to spray paint the outside of the hide black. Just wait for the paint to dry and the fumes to go away and you should be fine.

And even spray paint can take forever to de-gas. I would suggest perusing a dollar store and getting some black plastic containers.

Me three, tape is a bib no no. You can't believe how well it sticks to snakes. I have heard that mineral oil and patience can get it off without taking the snake's skin.

As the others said...no tape. I had a 2" piece of tape stuck to my bp a couple of days ago and (thanks to the advice on this forum) I was able to get it off...but only after about 20 minutes of dabbing olive oil on w/ a q tip.
