    Re: Breeding Rescued Snakes

For me it doesn't really matter where the snake came from, it's going to face the same standards by which Mike and I judge any snake in our collection as fit to be bred.

    Re: Breeding Rescued Snakes

In the dog world, this is like... a ticket to hell and being blacklisted forever from the dog fancy.

Why? Namely because most rescue dogs come from poor backgrounds. They may be purebred, but they probably come from parents who are not screened for hip dysplasia and other defects in the given breed. They probably came from parents who were not champions... so no good breeder would WANT to breed from such a dog. Pedigrees and health are everything for a truly ethical dog breeder.

In snakes, such issues (spare the parentage of het morphs) are not really at stake, so unless the former owner objects, I see no problem with it.
