    Major Success Story

So, the very first ball python that I ever got is Pecan a CH female. She has been a picky eater since she was about 3 months old...I'm talking like will eat for three weeks and then not eat for three months. She is my second oldest snake...and the smallest (besides my 08s).

Anyway...I've never been able to get her to take and ASF....she just looks at it for a second then decides its not edible and leaves it alone...until last night. I was like "let's just try this one more time..." AND SHE ATE TWO OF THEM!!!! This is so exciting for me because its been such a pain that all my other snakes will eat the ASFs except her...hopefully this is her turn around point and she's going to actually eat and grow...

    Re: Major Success Story

That's awesome! I also have a very picky eater and am thinking about trying out an ASF. Should it be killed first or can they go in the cage alive with the snake? We feed live mice right now and never have had a problem.

    thanks

    Re: Major Success Story

i have to feed live, my ball wont even look at it unless its breathing, just make sure you DO NOT leave them unattended and be ready to jump in with a pen or something (to shove in the rats mouth) incase it tries to go after the snake.
