I name my snakes, which sometimes I usually end up changing the name till I find something that fits.

Re: Do you name your snakes?

I've named all of mine, but then again I only have five right now. It's better than calling them "that one" all of the time. Two of them had names when I got them, and I haven't decided on a new name yet. Not that they care, or can even hear it, lol. The BF seems to like the names, so they'll probably stay.

    Ringo- pastel male ringer
Louie- pastel male (name he came with)
Jade- normal female (name she came with)
Apollo- BF's snake, normal "I think it's male" that I want to have resexed.
Zoolander- normal male, very pretty but not too bright. Our pickiest eater, so he's slow at growing.
    My clan-
    1.2 Human Children, 1.0 Boyfriend
2.4 Normal Ball Pythons, 2.0 Pastel Ball Pythons
1.0 Pinstripe Ball Python, 0.1 Spider Ball Python
1.0 Sable Ball Python, 0.2 Feline Royalty
0.1 Hyperactive Siberian Husky, 3.9 Breeder Mice

Re: Do you name your snakes?

I only have 5 snakes and they all have names. I bought them as pets to be part of the family, not so much to breed them, though some day I plan to. And all their babies will be named as well, lol. It would be hard for me not to give them all names.

Re: Do you name your snakes?

I have not named any of my Ball Pythons. I have name all of my Bearded Dragons except for the hatchlings for sale. I guess it is easier to say this is my Female Pied or Male Butter. Then saying here is my Purple and Yellow Hypo Male with Clear Nails (NEO) or Tiger Flaming Cawley #1 (SAPPHIRE). The Ball Python morph names are a lot easier then the Bearded Dragon morph names.

Re: Do you name your snakes?

All of my snakes have names right now. The last two I get that I will name for now is a pair of mojaves that I will pick up in a couple weeks, after that the rest is going to be for breeding and I will number then then. I may get a few different morphs as pets later on, but for now thats it.

Re: Do you name your snakes?

I always have fun with naming my animals... even my fish have names (mostly for kicks, though.) Anyway, my little ball just got his name.

Re: Do you name your snakes?

I name all of my animals. I really feel that the number system is confusing and impersonal. I am not judging anyone who uses the numbering system or saying that it's not an okay thing to do I am just saying it's not for me.

I have a system though. spiders have names the start with W, pastels names start with D, genetic stripe hets (and eventually visuals) have names with 2 L's in them right next to each other (like the line on their back) ex. Lilly, Dillon. Het SKA all have names that start with H, albinos and hets start with A.

My crazyness goes on and on. There are a few animals that their names don't fit into any catagory but they where named before I figured out my system or they are an exception animal. Like Jacki who is named after Greg's wife since we bought the hets from him.

Re: Do you name your snakes?

If I use a snake to breed, no names.

If I have single specimens that wont be used for breeding, sure, they are then pets.
