records. Help!!
Well I have been having a little trouble with my male albino and well. I am wondering if there is anything wrong with this fella. So I decided to take it one step further so that I can get the proper help, or if it is fine for him to act this way every once in a while. So here are my feed weight and shed records for my male albino. Is there anything I should be worried about, or am I just a little paranoid?? Oh yea, every feed attemp is one medium sized rat.

Re: records. Help!!
So hes only 1 month from his last meal and the one before that was 2 weeks prior to that. I dont see anything to be too alarmed about yet. Is he near any females or have you been breeding him? Double check to make sure nothing has changed with your husbandry and just keep trying maybe once a week.

Re: records. Help!!
you haven't mentioned what type of rat. if you are feeding Norwegian rats try African soft fur rats. if he is a picky eater you may find more luck with with those. worked for me and i hope it works for you.

Gonna ask, temps, set up, handling, where you got him? Have you done a fecal check? He's lost over 100 grams, but I assume he defecated when he shed.
IF you are worried, take him to a vet.

temps--ambient 82 hot spot 91 cool 84 humidity 47
handling about once a week for 15 minutes
I have him in a rack inside my snake room.
And I feed him rats that come from a local reptile store
Also I was thinking he might wanna be with the female that he locked with about a month 1/2 ago.

Re: records. Help!!
Since he has been breeding, its probably nothing to worry about...as long as conditions are alright. Keep him away from the ladies if he is done breeding and keep offering food once a week or so.

Re: records. Help!!
It seems like you are offering more often than I would be. There was another thread that Ed and I both said that when a snake seems like it is going to go off feed, we will only offer every two weeks or so. I'd also try switching to small rats for a while. I've noticed that some snakes that eat a lot will tend to be the ones that will start to hold out on me, so I will hold out on her first, offering food less often, and reducing the prey size or the number of items offered.
If your husbandry is good, I would up the hot side to 93 or so, wait two weeks, then on feeding day up the heat to 95 in the morning and offer a small rat that evening. It works for me, and like I said in the other thread, I'd rather have a snake that is consistently eating one small rat, or a couple of mice, every two weeks, than a snake that will only occasionally eat a medium rat or 3-4 mice. After a month or two of that schedule I start to offer a small rat weekly with the rest of the collection and see how it goes. if she's still refusing, keep to the twice a month schedule. If that doesn't work, I just offer every two weeks and accept that they sometimes just don't want to eat for a while, but that trick usually keeps them eating consistently.
