What was the pairing that made these? They look like fires to me!

I would say fire. I don't believe they are normal.

    Re: is this a fire.

I just had a clutch hatch out this week between a pastel female and a super pastel male and a spider male. It was a two father clutch. The super pastel may be a firefly and not a super...because it looks like I got two fires. I attached pics, you be the judge. I do know that the breeder I got my super pastel from had bred two fires together and pastels popped up in the litter. I believe the same thing just happened to Tom Crutchfield. So anyways, I have two of these fires and I would like to trade them for some rats.

that is a copy of the email i was sent. thanks.

I think that the person who sent you the e-mail is probably correct for thinking his super pastel is a firefly. Unless something else is going on (new morph?) I would definitely call those fires! They are not normal for sure!

they look normal, not bright enough to say fire. my two pennies, take with salt grains please.

fires are pastel-ish, imo. very bright, very light, extreme contrasts, blushing from nil to extreme. as those are babies, i have to say WAY too brown to be fires.

I say send a pic to Ralph Davis or Bob Clark. They are very good guys and will probably be glad to take a look for you.

They both have the spot on the head ad do fires. They look very much like fires, but fires are hard to tell when young. They develope their look as they grow.
