Eastern Milk Snakes

Found an Eastern Milk Snake in my basement basking under the lights I use to grow my orchids today. He looked supremely happy at the time but I ruined his day by taking a couple pics and putting him out in the back field where he belongs:





This guy was really lacking the normal red coloration we see around here. Pic of a more typical local milk (my husband found this guy in the yard):

Looks like great looking animal. Its probably an anery or something along those lines. I know people in MA who breed these guys and have caught anery individuals in the field. One person even found and albino in his own back yard, what luck!

the best part was he did the full-on tail rattling display for me. Very impressive animal and thankfully didn't even pee on me.

oh, and sorry my hands are so gross - I was in the middle of fixing our washing machine and it was quite a battle.
